A few things

Three new recipes popped up on our website recently, posted by Peggy here in Portland --- a broccoli salad, a kale-sweet potato-mango salad, and an appetizer called Caponata. You can find all three below under Newest Recipes: http://mindfulcooking.org/ Many thanks, Peggy!

I have another new recipe for you too, called Unbaked Granola Bars Unbaked Granola Bars
The recipe was created by my friend Wendy Gabbe Day here in Portland who posted it on her Lively Days website: https://livelydays.com/ I was so pleased to find a granola bar I could make on a hot day without turning on the oven. I like to keep a supply in the freezer. They warm up quickly but I also enjoy them cold.

I heard from John in Texas this week. He sent a reassuring article on the issue of lead in nutritional yeast:

I also heard from Christel in Germany, who sent a link to something called Summer of Peace ---- " the largest online event committed to peace on the planet! ... thousands of people from over 120 countries are gathering together to bring inner, interpersonal and collective peace efforts to the next level." What a positive thing! It will be going on until Sept. 21. Participation is free. http://summerofpeace.net/program

Portland people and anyone passing through the area--- you are invited to our Summer Potluck ---- Saturday, August 22 ---- at my house. We'll be out in the garden if weather permits. Please send me an email if you would like the details.

I'm looking forward to finding out what we all are thinking about and cooking up these days!

Happy cooking,
Eve
