Here is a new recipe I came up with last night for our black bean burritos. It's quick and easy and would go well over a roll up or on pasta or wherever you would like a spicy, creamy sauce.----Betsy
240 ml 1 cup almond milk or other dairy-free milk
30 ml2 T. cashews
5 ml1 tsp cumin seeds
hot pepper flakes
30 ml 2 T nutritional yeast
15 ml 1 T. arrowroot dissolved in 2 T water
Heat almond milk, add cashews, seeds, pepper flakes and stir until simmering. Add arrowroot/water mixture and stir until thickened. Pour liquid into a vita mix and add nutritional yeast. Blend until smooth.
Adjust for seasonings. Add more of anything.

Without a VitaMix...
I mixed it in the pan with an immersion blender (that's why it looks foamy in the picture). This worked well.-----Eve
