Bryanna's Yeast Gravy


The Almost No Fat Cookbook, Bryanna Clark Grogan

A delicious and simple gravy. We like to have this on Christel's Kidney Bean Loaf but it also goes well with potatoes and anything else you might like to have with gravy.


79 ml 1/3 c. unbleached all-purpose, whole wheat pastry flour, or gluten-free flour
590 ml2 & 1/2 c. water
79 ml1/3 c. nutritional yeast
30 ml2 T. tamari or other soy sauce
2 ml1/2 tsp. salt


Whisk the flour in a heavy saucepan over high heat. When toasty, remove from heat and whisk in the water, nutritional yeast, tamari and salt.

Place over high heat again, and stir until it thickens and comes to a boil. Reduce heat and cook 2-5 minutes.
