Double Mushroom Sauce

This is the best of all the mushroom sauces I've tried. If the price of dried mushrooms is daunting, you can dry your own on purpose or by default (mine dried nicely in a forgotten paper bag in the refrigerator!)

Seasons:
Major Ingredients:

Hollandaise Sauce

This sauce is traditionally used with Tofu Benedict and Portabella Benedict. However, it adds elegance, color and additional flavors when drizzled over veggies, particularly green (asparagus, broccoli, etc.), or those of another strongly contrasting color (grilled red bell peppers are an example).

Major Ingredients:

Versatile Veggie Cream Sauce

This is a very versatile sauce that can have any number of veggies added to it. Pour it over mushroom-tempeh crepes, or add it to the filling, or use it wherever you would like a creamy sauce.

Major Ingredients:

Baked Marinated Chickpeas

These versatile chickpeas can be eaten for snacks, sprinkled on salads, pasta dishes, soups, and stirfries, lightly mashed with condiments for a sandwich spread or whizzed in a mini-food processor with lemon juice, garlic, and tahini for a chunky hummus!

Major Ingredients:

Walnut Sauce

A simple, delicious, and versatile sauce to pour over grains or veggies or use as a salad dressing.

Major Ingredients:

Marjorie's White Bean Dip

Here is the delicious dip Marjorie served at the sangha holiday gathering in December.

Major Ingredients:

Fat-free Balsamic-Raisin Vinaigrette

An unusual blend of sweet and tart flavors in a nutritious salad dressing.

Major Ingredients:

Sharp Cheddar Nut Cheese

A rich-tasting hard cheese that can be sliced or melted. This recipe takes some time: the rejuvelac takes 2 days to make, and then the cheese needs 1 to 3 days of aging to develop the sharp flavor. Betsy assures us that it's worth it! That tempting loaf of bread in the photo is a rye that includes leftover sprouts from making the cheese: Rye Sprouts Bread

High Protein Oil-Free Basil Pesto

I had serious doubts about the whole idea of oil-free pesto but this recipe blew my preconceptions away! It's delicious and you can use it on anything--pasta, potatoes, sandwiches, as a dip, or even as a salad dressing.

Seasons:
Major Ingredients:

Oceans' Delight Tofu Spread

A fishbone-free vegan fishy dish, sent with "Mermaid's Greetings" from Christel. Spread it on crackers or use it to fill a sandwich along with cucumbers, tomatoes, onions...
