Map as connecting link for us

Here are two more of our recipes from last week's potluck, first Linda's spicy Butternut Squash and Green Beans in Coconut Milk:
Butternut Squash and Green Beans in Coconut Milk
And then Sigrid's memorable Curried Vegetable-Potato Wok (my husband was so delighted when he discovered we got the leftovers!) Curried Vegetable-Potato Wok

I've entered a few more new recipes which I will feature in my next email. Meanwhile you might like to see them and our map, now on our Home page: http://mindfulcooking.org/ The map is always changing----three of us now have our names connected to our places. Would anyone else like to be known just a little more? May I connect your first name (or whole name) to the upside-down teardrop that pinpoints your town?

I heard from several of you about the map and Betsy suggested adding her website---a great idea---so now you can go her place (Port Hueneme, California) and connect to her tempeh-themed website and get to know her that much better. Linda, here in Portland, also let me name her on the map and I knew she also has a website. She let me make that connection too so now you can see that she is a weaver and permaculture enthusiast. The third member known by name on the map is me, and you already know about my website ;-) There are 120 more of us. I wonder who will be next to add your name to the map?

Here's what came to my inbox this week, positive thoughts about the map and potluck photo:

Eve, I would love to add my name, address, website to any and all that you have in mind....
My friend in Ventura near the water, has been growing a tomato variety called: fox--between a large cherry or small tomato. I picked a few pounds last week since they are the sweetest I have ever eaten and the best tasting. High recommended.---Betsy in California

The map is fun to see! Thanks, Evan. ---Nancy A. in California

I love your Google map of the Mindful Cooks! You can add my full name to the map. I was imagining visiting people on the map. I would love to go to Australia someday, and have some fiber arts contacts in Sydney. It was nice to see one of your pins there.----Linda in Portland

It's so good to be a part of our international community and to make strong ties between us, worldwide.
Cooking together is better than...
...war!
Make cakes with mindfulness and compassion
- not war.
: )
Maybe at the end some of the very secret people behind the scenes, who check our e-mails will have some benefit of reading all these recipes too.
...
It's so nice to look at you all with Margaret in the middle.
And then our worldwide growing community - I've never heard of Skibbereen and you probably never heard of my town Marl - but somehow the drops of mindfulness are reaching us in every corner of the world, watering our smaller or bigger plants of mindful cooking skills.
What a wonderful idea to have a chocolate potluck - the child in me is jubilating.

I've googled a bit for "Hilary's" and found their website: http://www.hilaryseatwell.com/recipes What a pity that we don't have something like "Hilary's" here in Germany.

Thanks for Margarets recipe - we live here in an Asparagus-region!

With friendship-feelings
Christel

Christel also sent her latest flavor experiment, which I have entered as a recipe under Condiments:
some days ago I just mixed lemon zests ( from one organic lemon ) with maple syrup
( nearly 150-200 ml [---about 2/3 cup] ) and let both become friends in the fridge for some hours.
This flavoured maple syrup is just wonderful, for example as a substitute for honey on my morning müsli.
Maybe you like this idea too ( and maybe my "invention" is already something well-known to a lot of people ).

Thanks everyone----you have me jubilating too!

Happy cooking,
Eve
