Happy bellies and the approaching zucchini crisis...

Our sangha celebrated "Interdependence Day" with a potluck and Sigrid brought this wonderful, flavorful potato salad. I have all the ingredients now so I may be able to add a photo soon: Potato-Arugula Salad

The world map of our group is getting friendlier all the time. Alison in New Hampshire sent me an email and referred to " Happy bellies all over the world" ---what a great way to think of it! Four more of us have our names by our teardrop now----Janet on the Sunshine Coast, BC, George in Pittsburgh, PA, Alison in New Hampshire, and Donna in Portland. I still haven't solved the alphabetizing problem for the list on the left, but I did add the state or country after the city name. Whenever you see a place with an asterisk, click on it and you will see both where it is and the name of at least one of our group who lives there. I would be glad to add more names----who wants to jump in? Just reply to this email and let me know. Here is a look at the map: https://mapsengine.google.com/map/edit?mid=z83MeVnxaQv8.kyuSjKc6_q1E

Just a reminder----your name on the map just allows us to visualize our group a little better. It doesn't give anyone the means to contact you. If you want to contact someone, just send me an email and I'll help make it happen---- only if both parties are willing.

I heard from several of you this week:

Thanks for the dressing recipes, and all the other great info. I liked your explanation that the project is "not an exclusive club for 100% vegans wearing haloes!"
I read the article, "How much your meat addiction is hurting the planet"... how ironic (and sad) that the article is accompanied by *three* ads from Safeway for prime rib!
Take care, Linda in Portland

Thank you Eve for this wonderful news letter. You always include such wonderful recipes and news. You play a beautiful role in the truly huge wave moving across this world….a wave of gentle, healthy, compassionate living in the circle of life. It does make such a HUGE difference….most especially for the precious animals and earth that are caught in the middle. I went to the NW Veg picnic yesterday and it was very beautiful to see all the people there - and the dishes were amazing. I sat next to a couple of doctors who have been vegan for 30 years….and they shone!!!! Hope to see you at the next potluck for this beautiful group!
Donna in Portland

Thanks for the yummy dressing recipes. I look forward to trying them. Please feel free to add my name to your map. I would love to be included.
Hope you are enjoying the bounty of summer.
Blessings,
Janet in Sunshine Coast, BC

Betsy and Gunter will probably know how to make Tempeh bacon, but for all of us who don't here is a step-by-step-video.
