Tofu Nuggets or Cutlets

An easy way to flavor tofu to enjoy on its own or add to any recipe.

450 g 1 pound firm tofu, cut in 1/2 - 3/4 inch squares (for nuggets) or rectangles about 1/4" x 1" x 2" (for cutlets)
3-4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1-2 tablespoons of finely chopped ginger, depending on your taste
2-3 teaspoons olive oil
30 ml2 tablespoons of tamari or soy sauce
59 ml1/4 cup sesame seeds

1. Sauté tofu, garlic and ginger in oil, turning when first side is golden brown. (For nuggets, turn occasionally, as tofu browns slightly).

2. When garlic and ginger have cooked and tofu is slightly browned, sprinkle with sesame seeds and pour on tamari or soy sauce. Stir and let cook about another 2 minutes.

3. Serve over brown rice, quinoa, or kasha, along with vegetables of your choice. Makes a delicious addition to stir-fried vegetables and rice. Or, eat as a side dish.
