Berries and Ginger and Yogurt...oh my!

"Nice after dinner or for brunch side dish. Digests best in good company!"---Laura

Ingredients: 

6 (7-oz.) containers plain Greek yogurt
4-oz. package crystallized ginger, minced (about 3/4 c.)

1 small container raspberries
1 small container blackberries
1 small container blueberries
8-oz. container strawberries, hulled, halved (quartered if large)

240 ml1 c. sugar
59 ml1/4 c. water

optional garnish: mint leaves, edible flowers, lemon cookies or ginger snaps

Instructions: 

Mix the yogurt and ginger together. Mix the berries together. Layer yogurt mixture and berries in a shallow bowl, ending with a layer of berries. Chill several hours

Dissolve sugar in water and bring to a boil. Do not stir, allow to carmelize. Pour onto top and center of berries and let set 5 minutes.

Garnish as desired.
