Waking up the Home page

...this was delicious and I'd like to make more, hopefully less caved in. Here is the recipe:
Kidney Bean Loaf

I've been cooking up some ideas for our website and wonder what you think. I've always thought it would be fun to get more voices there. This email connects us in a way but the exchange of ideas is somewhat slow. We could hear from each other much more frequently by making more use of our website. Here are some possibilities:

----Entering recipes: New recipes would appear faster if more of us were entering them. It's already possible for anyone to do this if you log in and follow the steps. If you enjoy playing around with the computer and would be willing to enter an occasional recipe, let me know and I'll send you the ones that come to me. I'll be glad to help anyone who wants to give it a try.

----Our blog: We have a blog space at the top of the Home page. I've been filling it with a copy of these emails but we could certainly play around with other possibilities. I think of it as a place for a group conversation. In our potlucks here in Portland we go around the table and each of us has a chance to say whatever is on our mind about food. We could use the blog space the same way-----send me a paragraph or two about you and food and I'll post it there----and all of us could add our comments. It could turn into a stimulating conversation, as it always does here!

----Book and website suggestions: Do you have a cookbook, website, kitchen tool or anything else you have discovered and would be glad to tell us about? Just write a few sentences and post under "Active Discussions" on the Home page, or send it to me and I'll post it.

Here is the Home page so you can see the places I'm talking about----the blog space at the top, new recipe list below that, and active discussions to the left. All these places could be popping up with new ideas any time. Don't be shy----if you have something to add, just let me know and we'll get it up there! http://mindfulcooking.org/

Hope to hear your thoughts--

Happy cooking,
Eve

P.S. Portland people----our Winter Potluck is coming into view, Sunday, Feb. 23----do check your calendar, and if you might like to host this one, please let me know!

It would be wonderful if some of us could get inspired to post recipes, food photos, information about our local activities, questions, etc. I am not much of a public speaker, but I will give it a try.

I would like to get some good ideas on how to best treat tempeh to flavor it. Just soaking in a marinade only minimally flavors it, even after poaching. Suggestions?
