Shepherds and hiccups

This week's recipe is one I meant to send out months ago, but better late than never. I think of shepherd's pie as a comforting hot dish for a cold winter day, but maybe you'll find a good day for it before summer really sets in. It's made with crumbled veggie burgers, and if you buy ones with interesting herbs and spices they will add extra flavor to the dish. It's a Robin Robertson recipe so you know it already has wonderful flavors of its own!

I'm sending you to the Home page this time so you can see three things at once: Lori's gluten-free lasagna from last week is now on our site (under Newest Recipes)--- the excerpts from the Letter from Thay on livestock and global warming are under Active Discussions ----- and the Ultimate Shepherd's Pie is under Recipe of the Week:

It's been a quiet week in my inbox... I did hear from Betsy in California who reports that there have been "hiccups" along the way but the tempeh incubator may be on the market by fall. She promises to keep us updated.

The biggest news is that our 18th potluck in Portland is only two weeks away! If you will be in the area just send me an email and I'll let you know the details.
